ancient atlantic hazel woodland
these are ancient hazel stools which have a girth of several meters and are probably in excess of 400 years old. This drawing in ink is in mid winter when some light penetrates to the woodland floor. In summer it feels like being in a dark tunnel plastered in bryophytes and green dampness
